Posted by David Snyder on Sep 16, 2016 4:55:02 PM

Snyder Group's annual Deck Party brought together an amazing mix of professionals who collectively have us immersed in marketing campaigns including search engine optimization, website design/builds, inbound, content, social and database marketing. As we shrug off the fading summer and head into what will be our 21st year as an advertising and marketing agency,  I look back at a year that has been both dynamic and fast paced.

Best Practices for Integrated Cross-Device Marketing in 2016

Posted by David Snyder on Feb 4, 2016 2:23:47 PM

In 2016, consumers are increasingly spreading their digital lives across multiple devices. Smart phones, tablets, wearables... the list goes on. Cross-device marketing is the process of targeting and engaging consumers across multiple devices in some organized and scheduled manner. In many ways multiple devices mean multiple opportunities to track and engage customers. It also has the potential of leading a marketer into a mess of highly fragmented and incompatible data. Without a sound cross-device marketing strategy in place for 2016, marketers will quickly find themselves overwhelmed.  This post aims to give you a high-level introduction to cross-device marketing and educate you on a few best practices. Here are some basic rules to follow.

2016 Marketing Here We Come

Posted by David Snyder on Dec 30, 2015 2:47:14 PM

January 2016 marks Snyder Group's 20th anniversary in business. Time is relative and some say it flies. What I do know is that a lot of water has gone under the bridge since we first opened our doors in 1996. Think about it. In 1996 the internet was just being introduced to the public.  We wrote letters. We faxed. We attended meetings in person. Email? AOL baby. Searching meant having lost something and Google was a funny word. Fast forward. Marketing and selling are thriving online and the internet is the primary place to conduct both business and the social aspects of our lives.

Digital Marketing for the Boating Industry: Blogging to Sell Boats

Posted by David Snyder on Apr 16, 2015 3:06:00 PM

If it floats, sail or power, boaters want to know about it. Boating for the boat buyer is a lifestyle, a passion. In fact, I’m convinced that the concept of a “chat group” was first born by user groups of various boat brands. When employed strategically, these communication forums, including blog platforms, are an optimal way for boat sellers to connect with boat buyers. In Part 1 of this series, we talked about nurturing leads through email marketing with relevant content. Now, we'll talk about what exactly this relevent content entails and how the boating industry can benefit from blogging.

Posted by David Snyder on Apr 1, 2015 3:41:00 PM

Full disclosure - I’m a sailing fanatic. If it floats, sail or power, PLEASE market to me. This is true for most boat buyers because boating is a passion and we can't get enough.

One Part Marketing, One Part IT. Shake Well. Then Shake Again.

Posted by David Snyder on Sep 26, 2014 6:39:00 AM

I love our IT guy. We're lucky because we've got someone on board who is brilliant and a really cool guy. What I am learning from him I've never had an inherent desire to know. And most of the things he sends or copies me on in emails I simply gloss over, only to write back, "Does it work?" or "Is it doing what we want it do?". In other words, the end game, the big picture, the objective. There’s a real difference in the way we communicate. He likes the nuts and the bolts. I like the robot. And I believe we both respect (at least I do) each other for that. At a recent gathering of digital marketers I discovered that I am not alone in this communication chasm between IT and marketing.

Thoughts. Leadership. Inbound 2014.

Posted by David Snyder on Sep 19, 2014 11:50:00 AM

This past week, I was thankfully pulled into attending HubSpot's Inbound 2014 Event. The event is hosted annually and presents the newest marketing strategies, conference training sessions, and plenty of networking and socializing events. This being my first inbound event, I made a point of attending several educational conferences, hearing some cool keynotes, and generally soaking up the inbound marketing vibe that was permeating from all rooms out into the city of Boston. To follow, some conference take aways that resonated for me:
